Personal Statement:  Welcome to my website.  I am Nancy Williford, a licensed therapist in practice for over 25 years. I appreciate the opportunity to tell you about myself and how I will work with you in order for you to explore how I may be of help.

Whether you are new to counseling or have had previous therapy, your goal may be to feel better about yourself, a relationship, your career, or where you are at this stage in life.  Perhaps you want to overcome habits that are impacting your self esteem, a relationship, or your work.  Perhaps you want a practical solution to a particular situation, which might be resolved with short term counseling.  Or you may want more intensive therapy to uncover the root of your concern, to examine and resolve origin influences.

Since each client is an individual with special needs, there is no “one formula” that fits everyone.  My approach will be individualized for you, a plan that best fits your goals and personality---a plan that incorporates in-depth exploration of feelings, motivations, and values, challenging new ideas, and sensitive confrontation.  I will work with you to get answers to how you got to where you are.  I will help you refine your skills in problem solving and communication so you can make progress on your own.

In addition to a 25 year practice of psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families and groups, I also provide training and consultation in psychotherapy to other professionals.

Credentials/Training:   

MSW, Board Certified Diplomate, Certified Group Psychotherapist.  I am extensively trained in many different psychotherapeutic approaches including Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic/Object Relations, Redecision, etc.  I do clinical training, supervision, and consultation to other professionals through universities, professional associations and private practice.  I chaired the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners and was Co-Director of Clinical Training of Arizona Group Therapy Society.  I authored You, Your Children & Divorce.
